MALTA's Tuesday breakfast ministry in Pawcatuck has been going on since May. Recently, potential to reach more folks increased as MALTA collaborated with the WARM Center in
Westerly and Pilgrim Baptist Church in Ashaway, along with human services of Stonington case manager Diana Rushlow, New London homeless hospitality center outreach specialist David Horst, and Pastor Ray Jones of Lighthouse Community Baptist Church in Stonington to provide a van to pick up shelter guests and others who would benefit by transportation to and from breakfast donated by a local Dunkin' Donuts where they could meet with social workers and a Malta volunteer. Pictured is van driver Will Houlihan, who is a case manager from the WARM Center (Will also attends Pilgrim Baptist Church, where he serves in the van ministry.)
Also pictured is David Horst, NLHHC outreach worker with a breakfast guest. The breakfast was being served outside in nice weather, but now we have full use of tables and chairs inside of Lighthouse Community Baptist Church, as well as other use of their facilities. What a blessing!
